Vineyards: The wine comes from Los Lingues Estate. The soil presents a matrix of rocks in different states of decomposition, mainly as fragmented alterites, which give the balance sought between vigour, productivity and quality. Mineral notes are expressed because of the balanced extraction through the deep roots.
Vinification: The grapes were handpicked in extremely small, selected parcels, from high density vines in our Los Lingues Vineyard. Coming from parcels D2 for Carmenere, E2 Malbec, E1 for Cabernet Sauvignon, G1 for Cab Franc, F4 Merlot, and C3 for Petit Verdot. Vinification is conducted in 600L barrels to get a gentle extraction of aromas, flavors and tannins. The wine was aged for 24 months in separate lots, and blended all together by gravity to a concrete egg tank, where AUMA was aged for another 9 months prior to bottling.
Terroir: Well-drained soils have a clay texture with volcanic rocks and colluvial stones that deliver unique minerals giving the right balance to this wine. Both are key factors of optimal terroir for the production of high quality red wines.
Training system: Double Guyot.
Tasting Notes: Spicy blackberry and cassis aromas are dense yet subtle. A power-packed palate is pulpy and fruity but also tannic. Blackened berry flavors dominate this Bordeaux-style blend, while richer oak-aided flavors of chocolate and root beer settle at the top of a long finish. Drink through 2026.
